Kitchen and Diner

Kitchen and Diner

This kitchen/diner was a wow space and would be a key selling point for this large six bedroom family home.

The walls were badly marked, however, and therefore the whole room was repainted in a soft grey which provided a nice contrast with the white woodwork. A few of the black gloss tiles were also cracked so these were replaced.

The kitchen itself was fairly new and did not need much work. It was cleaned until it sparkled and a few tasteful accessories were added.

The dining part of the room, however, was empty (apart from a large TV) and required dining furniture. It was a long rectangular space and so was split into two areas: a tv area (for children to watch TV while parents cooked dinner) and a dining area.

To reduce costs, the fabulous wooden dining table was borrowed from the client’s parents.

The black sofa and black gloss furniture were bought as they not only worked well with the black tiles in this kitchen/diner but would also fit nicely into the kitchen/diner of the new house which the couple were intending to move to.

Stylish modern accessories were bought and soft furnishing (lime green and grey) added. As a final touch, flowers were arranged in a striking vase in the centre of the table.

The result was a wow kitchen/diner, split into 3 distinct but flowing areas, reflecting the lifestyle of a modern family.
